One of the best ways to accomplish this is to make games based on movies, or movies based on games. For example, Lost was one of the most popular drama shows recently. It follows the lives of plane crash survivors on a mysterious tropical island. The plot and the storytelling is very interesting according to the TV audience. That is one of the reasons why Lost won many industry awards including Emmy and the Golden Globe.

No wonder that programmers decided to create a video game based on the show. The game is available for PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. The price ranges from $30 to $60, depending on which system you plan to play this game. The game features many flashbacks, a parallel storyline, many dialogues from real actors, occasional fast-paced arcade-style chases, and a large area to explore.

I think it would be fair to mention that unfortunately the game is not really rated very well, which means that it might not appeal to everyone. However, I am sure that the fans will get a blast by playing this game. It is really interesting to see that there are more and more games based on movies.

There are millions of people who have their own business, and while it may not be that easy, the numbers prove that it can be done. These days a lot of people are thinking about selling their products on the Internet, but whether you want to take advantage out of technology is completely up to you. However, before starting your own business, it is important to take into account a few things:

What are your strengths? What talents do you have? What do you like to do? Your business will have a bigger chance of succeeding if you get involved in something you have potential to perform well.

What are your weaknesses? This may include activities you don’t like to perform. Do you like dealing with customers? Do you like advertising?

Another important thing to take into account is what are the opportunities out there. Maybe there is something going on which could give you an advantage over the competition. What are the current market conditions?

You should be also aware of any threats. The main threat might be competition, so you should check what is the overall situation. A threat to an online business may be also high hosting prices, or even large PayPal fees.

Those are a lot of questions, but answering them honestly will save you a lot of time and money, while ensuring that your business will have a larger chance to succeed.

Blogging is Time Consuming

Most people who do not blog do not realize that blogging is very time consuming. There are multitude of things to do including marketing, search engine optimization, networking, promotion, using Digg, guest posts, posting, comments, moderation, template design, protecting from hackers, and writing reviews.

I suspect that I did not even mention all of the things to do. A blog is like a business, but the difference is that usually only one person has to do all of the things. In companies there are different people responsible for different aspects. Sometimes there are even departments only responsible for one aspect like marketing. Naturally, you do not have to work on all of the aspects, but if you will not, then you won’t be really able to compete with other bloggers.

One of the most important things you need to focus on is marketing. Marketing is an interesting subject and a crucial part of a successful blog. That is why it is beneficial to learn from marketers how they manipulate how people think. It might sound scary, but that is really what marketing is about, and I don’t believe there is any fundamental flaw in it. I think it has been discovered what is the secret in marketing that allows to attract a large number of people. Successful marketers believe it is all about emotional connection, specifically to be able to connect with what’s behind the brand, with what’s behind the promise of the product. If that is achieved, it can create loyalty beyond reason.

What Are Conversions and Impressions?

I recently noticed that I use the terms conversions and impressions from time to time, but I might have not explained them properly. To begin with, those are terms often used in affiliate marketing and when it comes to Google Adsense. Impressions are the numbers signifying the amount of times the page with affiliate ads has been visited. Since it is easier to manipulate the impressions count then conversions, you are not going to be paid solely because of high amount of impressions.

On the other hand, conversions signify how many people of the ones who clicked performed that action you were paid for. Conversion rate is usually lower than 10% and often even lower than 0.5%, as conversions are actually the ratio of sales to impressions. So, for example, a 10% conversion rate would indicate that 1 in 10 people who view an ad decide to make a purchase. Impressions and conversions are very important part of a marketing strategy.

There are many people who specialize in maximizing the conversion rate, and what they do is they try to attract as many visitors to a website as possible. The amount of conversions will also depend on the attractiveness of a website. If there are enough call to action buttons a visitor is a lot more likely to make a purchase, and as a result, there will be more conversions.

Choosing Between Browsers?

Which browser should I choose? This is the question which many people ask, while others spend hours upon hours in order to prove that their browser is superior. While I also have a browser preference, this is not really what I wanted to talk about this time, as I rather want to point out something. With so many browsers advertising that they are the best, we often feel like we have to make a specific choice, and that is not really the case.

Some people might not know it, but you can actually have multiple browsers installed on your computer. You can use Firefox, IE, and Opera interchangeably, and you do not have to be limited to just one. You may wish to use Firefox when accessing dangerous sites, as Firefox is considered to be the safest browser.

On the other hand, you may also want to use Internet Explorer when you want to open some of your bookmarked pages, because most websites are compatible with IE. You can use Opera when you feel like you want to quickly jump from one tab to another, as Opera is a very fast browser. Remember that you don’t have to limit yourself to just one browser

Duplicate Content and Search Engines

Duplicate content is something that every serious webmaster is trying to avoid. Basically, duplicate content means that some specific content, like an article, exists in a few locations on Internet. Search engines often penalize websites for displaying duplicate content, as usually duplicate content provides a smaller value for Internet users. On the other hand, original content is something considered to be very valuable.

However, it seems that detecting duplicate content not always works as well as it should. From time to time, I hear bloggers reporting that articles on their site has been marked as duplicate content, because scraper websites have copied those articles to their own domains. If the duplicate content filter was working correctly, then the scraper sites would be marked as sites with duplicate content, not the opposite.

Generally speaking, scrapper sites are automated websites which pull content from other websites using web scraping. A lot of those sites are made for Google AdSense, but it is important to understand that a lot of them violate copyright law, as they do not even give credit to the original author. The webmasters of such sites do not put any work into writing articles, yet they might be ranked quite high in search engine results.

Some speculate that many search engines fail to realize on which site the content was posted in the first place. The websites which copy/paste content from other sites, but are indexed earlier might be actually treated as legit sites. While it is alarming, let’s hope that the major search engines will repair those content filters, as we do not want our content just copied/pasted to other websites. I hope that this article reminded all of us that original content is something we should strive for, and that copying copy/pasting content from other websites should be avoided at all cost.
